ABOUT ME

PSYCHOLOGICAL TREATMENT AND APPROACH

I am able to provide face-to-face and telehealth services to adults with a broad range of concerns such as:

  • mood issues (depression, dysthymic disorder, bipolar affective disorder, cyclothymia)

  • anxiety (generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder)

  • addiction problems

  • feelings of stress and burnout

  • relationship issues

  • parenting difficulties

  • adjustment disorders

  • difficult life transitions, and

  • motivation and procrastination issues.

I also have a special interest in complex and attachment trauma which can present as ‘borderline features’ and can include difficulties with:

  • forming healthy and meaningful relationships

  • emotion regulation and self harm

  • poor self-image, and

  • unhelpful coping behaviours.

I am passionate about helping people break free from childhood and family dysfunction that has impacted on their capacity to live full and meaningful lives.

I strive to understand each person deeply and tailor treatment to match with the person’s individual concerns and therapy goals. Each person will always be received with authenticity, open-mindedness, care and understanding.

Therapeutic modalities that I tend to draw from include:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Schema Therapy, and

  • Attachment and Trauma-informed Interventions.

Unfortunately, I do not see young people under 18, families or couples, nor do I offer reports for medico-legal purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

I graduated from the University of NSW in 2008 after completing a Master of Clinical Psychology and Bachelor of Science (Psychology). I have since worked in various settings such as a non-profit community organisation, community mental health centre and private practices across Sydney.

I am a registered member of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA). I am also a Medicare provider.

Out of the office, I am a busy mum to two school-aged children and one high-maintenance Tamaruke puppy. I enjoy going for long walks, dining out, reading fiction and (sometimes) cooking.
